History
A Chicago Legacy for 60 Years
reputation built on quality and service
The
“seeds of success” for Town & Country Landscape
Supply were planted on the family sod farm. What started out as
the Habenicht family sod farm, H&E Sod Nursery, in the southern
suburbs of Chicago, has grown and diversified into one of the largest,
most well-respected wholesale suppliers of bulk and bagged stone,
sod, and landscape products throughout the upper Midwest. Dale Habenicht,
the founder's son, established Town & Country Landscape Supply
Co. in 1978, to complement the sod business and service demand for
stone products in the rapidly growing Chicago landscape business.
Town & Country operates a fleet of thirty semi-dumps and flat-beds
out of five distribution facilities in the Chicagoland area. Town
& Country operations include a Bagging Plant on the Port of
Chicago, capable of taking in bulk stone by rail, barge, and ship.
At its packaging plant on the water, Town & Country bags a
variety of decorative landscape stone including, volcanic rock,
white marble, meramec, quartz, pebbles, gravel, sand, and paving
mix. Town & Country also distributes such diverse items as architectural
stone and boulders, pond rocks, landscape timbers, brick and concrete
pavers, retaining wall products, lawn edging, pond supplies, and
outdoor lighting products.
Never straying far from its “roots” in the turf business,
the family operates two sod farms and has been providing landscapers
and golf course superintendents with high-quality bluegrass and
bentgrass turf for sixty years. One of the seeds of success for
Town & Country has been the combination of sod and turf-related
products with the stone and landscape supplies.
Town & Country can truly offer “one-stop shopping”
for the professional landscaper. The success of Town & Country
is built on our reputation for high quality and dedicated service.
We are determined to bethe best!
